Chapter 10: 'How my St. Patricks Day Went!'

I apologize for my huge lack of posts this week! School and work is my number one priority right now. The good news is I did not fall off the face of the earth and a few eventful posts should be coming-up! I'm finishing an awesome anime series AND since you guys really seem to like my 'Food Porn' write-ups, there will be another one here as well. 


Despite the fact that I do not drink and I did not make corned beef and cabbage, my St. Patty's day was eventful this year! I wish I can show more pictures!
Hung out with my fam in a park and we had lots of kettle corn, watermelon, and lemonade! We kept feeding our dogs the popcorn! XP
Frisbee was included in the package! I was so terrible at chucking the thing!

It wasn't over.
A friend and I then decided to go to a sushi joint! She was all like 'Let's just order a bunch of things!' 
Calamari was one of my favs!!!!  
and so was the lotus roll.....
Diet epic fail!

Then,
We saw the movie "21 and Over"!!!!
I didn't feel guilty for bringing a coffee in because guess what? The pack sitting next to us brought 'In-n-out'!! 

The movie had me edging off my seat! 
My $5 popcorn spilled over the floor, mouth agape, coffee in my hand, my laughing went uncensored!
And a bit of the audience clapped at the end. Another good sign!

A buffalo, a 'few' sorority mobs, crazy (and drunk) Jeff Chang, "Getting Down"? Yeah this movie is the crazy cat lady of randomness. You probably should see the trailer! It's very crude though so I'll leave that to your own devices. 
And I am warning you this is an extremely crude rated-r movie so I wouldn't recommend anyone without their ID card to go see it! 


So far, my favorite movie! It couldn't get any better.

P.S. I kept describing it as funny as "The Hangover" but 3-fold, but ironically, it was from the writers of "The Hangover"! Go figure!

Movie Review #1: "Celeste and Jesse Forever"

Movie Review #1: "Celeste and Jesse Forever" 

Because it is a rated R movie, please expect drugs, sexual references, swearing, and crude humor in this particular film.

It is on Netflix and with my friend having awesome taste in movies....picked this.

So What Is It About? 

Celeste and Jesse decide to follow through on a divorce. Too bad they are still like 'best friends'. A closer awareness is brought toward them when a close friend flares up at the bar during a group date wondering why the heck do they spend every minute with each other. She and her boyfriend flee the scene in disgust. Jesse and Celeste try to distance themselves a little more (fail) BUT......

**Spoiler** ........ After about half an hour into the movie, Jesse finds out he is going to be a dad. Not with Celeste, but with another woman he spent the night with. He of course is in shock, but Celeste, completely heartbroken.*

Celeste does not experience many signs of jealousy & anger during this film. At least as I can tell. Rather, there is desperation for her 'best friend' and experiencing the pain of moving from very sudden change. She comes to realize that she cannot turn back the time. When roads such as this take a twist, getting back together no longer remains option. Especially when a new family waits to be built.

Our fav parts of 'Celeste and Jesse Forever'? Well.......

1.) It is surreal.
2.) Secretly I did not like Celeste and Jesse separating as they were perfect for each other.
3.) It is SO funny! Celeste and Jesse really are immature...
4.) The b****y model later plays a greater role in the film. I loved her little 'rise to fame'! This seriously was my favorite part of the movie!


My Criteria:

Did it have a strong story line?
 Yes, you see the realism of the separation.

If not, did the movie serve its random nature well? 
It is a bit random too. A bit mundane at times, but I still watched until the movie's end. There was scene after scene of epic hilarity!

How are the main characters? 
Solid. At least with 1. Jesse and Celeste 2. The gay guy at Celeste's workplace (he was funny!) 3. The teen model. I particularly didn't fall for Veronica, but she had to feed her vital part of the storyline.

What about the other characters? 
nah.

Main genre? 
Romantic comedy. 

Did I laugh, cry, clap, etc. ?
I laughed, beamed and giggled on the inside, made note-able comments, and laughed again. 

Overall rating (Out of 10 stars): 7/10! 

This film made our weekend night, and should be watched by all who are considering to watch!

Chapter 5: 'Romance movies + music= Love!'

My friend and I were watching the recent indie film "Safety Not Guaranteed". It was impressive and the romance between the characters were oh-so-a-real!
There was a scene where the main character plays a song he wrote on his zither:

I even bought the full-legnth version of this song "Big Machine" on i-tunes! Highly recommended.

This brought me on thinking though. Many of my favorite emotional, beautiful heartfelt songs actually are featured in several of my fav movies! Here's my list:
