Food Porn #2: Things are getting a little perfumey!

I love perfumey treats! The infusion suits my taste. Here are a bunch of the things I had this week! ^^

Left to Right: Ghirardelli Intense Dark Cabernet Matinee Chocolate, Lindt Excellence Passion Fruit dark chocolate, & Noosa Passionfruit yoghurt.

Wildflower Bread Co. has a wicked 'Georgia Peach' smoothie! It has a hint of lavender and precious whipped cream on top! Best part is the bottom where the whipped cream and lavender meet!
Um, who doesn't love Red Bulls & Sparkling Blackberry Izzes?!

Not to mention I had some peach-flavored black tea with some creamer and sugar in it! Amazing! You need to have a few shortbread cookie squares on hand with it though! I'm going to make it a bit more classy sometime (not use creamer) and serve it in a teapot. And make my own buttery shortbread cookies. Yeah. Sounds like a great plan!

Many people and cultures adore perfume-like foods. Are there any somebody is willing to share that is relevant to their culture? Anyone have a favorite indulgence?

Red - Taylor Swift - Lyrics (Unpitched)

Chapter 8: 'Rejection is the real deal. WTF do I do now?!'

Rejection is insane. Yes I know! This article is going to be for both guys and girls, yup. I'll do my best! So the thesis for this post? I guess it's 'What a relationship really is, how to deal with the stab in (your) heart, and how to take it out without dying and heal in the end!'.

Did you just go through a breakup? I encourage you to read this article step-by-step then! For example, if you are still 'healing', do not proceed to step #4 ;)

#1) <3 <3  Love is....

Okay, everyone has their own definition of Love. Love is does not have a manual. My writings are only opinion, but hopefully good advice. We gain Love through experience. Love should be attainted through Loving yourself first! There in no way you can emotionally take in another person for a relationship if you're insecure. Love who you want. Even if gender, religion, family, age, class, or abilities differ. BUT be realistic about it. For example, numerous divorces take play from financial strain. If you're planning on marrying one day, but know deep down 'this is not going to work', REALLY consider how much hell will be waiting down the road. Love conquers all but in certain situations, it really will not last.

NEVER mistake dependence, narcissism, sex, pressure (e.g. I have to be married by 22!), or loneliness for Love!

So now I'm asking you. "What is YOUR definition of Love?"
*I think this'll look great in your journal, a little doodle, or even a sign for your wall! ;)
I welcome all who are willing to share :)

#2) <---<-3----<<  I'm Enjoying Love

Love is a journey. Enjoy it! Everything will fall into play like it is supposed to. You cannot control destiny, even if you look it in the eye and even think about it. Anything you do, is supposed to happen. 99.9% of the time, your first Love will NOT be your last. It always sounds romantic (especially to the ladies...) that you will be marrying your first Love. Don't think that, really. Have fun! Go on group dates, remember your favorite dates, find what you Love about your person.

#3) </3 Save me, I'm Drowning

In person, in text, over the phone....It sucks! Cry. Do not visit them! Don't even look at them. Instead of seeing someone that is not a part of you anymore, go visit your friends and family!  Surround, Surround, Surround. And delete everything physically possible! Journal, Facebook relations, gifts, contact lists, photos, you get it! SHRED SHRED SHRED! You're going to be so happy surrounding yourself with people who automatically take you for who you are. They are saving you! You'll always be thanking them--for saving you from drowning.

Via. 'Everybody has a Brain'

Best (and truly tried) Healing Activities:

1. Bonfire!

Do this even if it's by yourself! Crack out your fav snacks (in my case Redbull, exotic chocolate....) and set fire to all your so-called Love poems, letters, preferably in a fire pit. And please comply with local law! Who doesn't Love fire?! And the evidence is all gone!

2. Service!

You think your life sucks? Well, someone out there has it a lot worse. So do something really sweet for them and be by their side. And you guys are going to be there for each other. You will feel so enlightened that you are lifting weight off another person's shoulders. Keep seeing them! :)

3. Stay Single if Possible!

Enjoy what was not possible before! Also, it is not always a good idea to immediately jump into a relationship right after one was put to an end! It's time to take care of yourself and have fun!!

4. Just laugh!

I am not joking. Even if you pretend you're laughing (Like saying AhahahahaHAHAHA!) You're triggering a gland in your chest. It releases endorphins! So laugh the night away! Watch some wicked youtube videos! Here is my current fav! (Invisible Drive-Thru Prank)

#4) <3! I'm just so, so....HAPPY!
You're healed! And you gained more experience! Experience set aside, ALWAYS remember how you felt! This will be the only thing you will truly take away with you!
What qualities can a potential partner NEVER have now? What were some of your mistakes in the relationship? (Surprisingly many people skip this step!) What are YOUR biggest strengths that make you an awesome catch as a significant other?

Here are some words of wisdom that have caught my eye while I was writing this article:

"We Accept the Love we Think we Deserve".

Chapter 7: 'Perfume Review #1'

Like my little back-drop? ;p

I absolutely love perfume. I chose at random a few I had of my counter and will be describing them.

(Left to Right)
1.) Bath and Body Works 'Honey Sweetheart' (travel-sized lotion)

"I was able to try this one today and it smells like their signature sweet pea at first, but develops into a candy-sweet-honey-cherry smell too. It's now one of my fav lotions from there! It is likely to be a limited edition though!"

2.) Bath and Body Works 'Japanese Cherry Blossom' (shimmer mist spray)

"It has a very powdery smell. Not bad though. I would be likely to wear this in the spring with no event in mind. Just whenever I felt like I wanted that 'powdery smell'. Just tested it right now and yeah, it's definitely recommended! It is a shimmer spray, and the sparkles are AMAZING! Good value as the sparkles stay on, are very abundant, and are fine (not chunky)!"

3.) Harajuku Lovers 'Angel' (0.33 fl oz perfume)

"Described as a sparkling floral. I agree. I like the smell, but often I find it too over-powering. It smells like Johnson and Johnson's baby shampoo, as a perfume. Alright, but now that I have smelled more, it is time to move on!"

4.) The Body Shop's 'Japanese Cherry Blossom' (Eau de Toilette)

"Obviously this is a floral scent, and as far as cherry blossom scents go, I never felt guilty wearing this one! Light, clean, and naturally sweet. If I cannot choose a bottle on the spot, I always go for this one!"

My rank would likely be #2 as my favorite, and then #1, #4, and then #3 as my least.
Any comments?

I Sniff Perfumes,

------Temo

P.S. I REALLY hope everyone had a really good Valentines Day! It is always fun single or not! Always remember that if you're single, you don't necessarily need a significant other to be happy, and if you are in a relationship, take the time to reflect on what you appreciate about it!

Chapter 6: 'Books + February 2013 Reads!'

This week was really strange for me since I have figured out I can actually cook! By the way, the most popular thing about my potluck dessert over last weekend was actually the strawberry pocky/symphony bar dip combo. Go figure.

Right now, these are books that I would be honored to touch and would really like to read!!

1) "The Boy Recession"
"...The boy recession has hit Julius P. Heil High, and the remaining boys find that their stock is on the rise: With little competition, even the most unlikely guys have a good chance at making the team and getting the girl. Guitar-strumming, class-skipping Hunter Fahrenbach never wanted to be a hot commodity, but the popular girls can't help but notice his unconventional good looks. With a little work, he might even by boyfriend material.
But for down-to-earth Kelly Robbins, the boy recession is causing all sorts of problems. She has secretly liked her good friend Hunter for a while now, but how can she stand out in a crowd of overzealous Spandexers?..." (Amazon.com).

2) "Pretty Little Liars"
"Among the mega mansions and perfectly manicured hedges of Rosewood, Pennsylvania, everyone has something to hide—especially four very pretty little liars.High school juniors Spencer, Hanna, Aria, and Emily have been keeping secrets ever since their best friend, Alison DiLaurentis, disappeared three years ago. But when the girls begin receiving threatening notes from someone named “A,” their secrets—the big ones, the little ones, even the long-buried ones—no longer seem so safe...." (Amazon.com).

3) "A Daily Creativity Journal 365"
"The concept of Noah Scalin’s "365 method" is simple but inspired: Choose a theme or medium, then make something every day for a year. Noah made 365 skull-themed projects . . . now he invites you to choose your obsession and get creative!
The book offers 365 project prompts to kick start your creativity, plus plenty of room for journaling, sketching, and jotting down ideas. Learn how to choose your subject and document your work, and see examples from other artists and crafters who took the 365 challenge. In addition, master new techniques to incorporate into your projects, including quilling, clay-making, paper pop-up engineering, and more. Share your progress with other 365-ers at www.MakeSomething365.com.
With 365: A Daily Creativity Journal you’ll get charged up, get messy, and get inspired, and you’ll see how making something every day can change your creative process—and change your  Life Forever!" (Amazon.com).

4) "Life of Pi"
"After the sinking of a cargo ship, a solitary lifeboat remains bobbing on the wild blue Pacific. The only survivors from the wreck are a sixteen-year-old boy named Pi, a hyena, a wounded zebra, an orangutan—and a 450-pound royal bengal tiger. The scene is set for one of the most extraordinary and beloved works of fiction in recent years" (Amazon.com).

And my book collection is growing back! Here's what's in my reading bin:
(From Left to right)

1. "Haganai: I Don't Have Many Friends, Vol. 1"
2. "The Perks of Being a Wallflower"
3. "Kitchen Princess Omnibus 1" (Volumes 1-2)

I am excited to See if any of these will be on my blog in the future!

CD Review #3: "All American Rejects: Kids in the Street"

"All American Rejects: Kids in the Street"

I feel that too many of my album reviews have been, well depressing. So here's something to perk ya up! Last year, the "All American Rejects" came out with a new CD! 'Shocking'. So did Simple Plan, Good Charlotte, and all the other boy bands too. I cannot remember why though but I bought it.

And here's what I think: It is pure musical genius. They totally came out with a new style BUT IT WORKS. There are many instances it has not for several bands who try to go down a different route! (e.g. 'Fall Out Boy' COMPLETELY failed on their last CD) I HAVE NEVER BOUGHT A BETTER CD! (yet) I now wish I had the deluxe version.... Since the bass is kick-butt, the best way to listen to these songs is in the car!

Number of 'F bombs': about 3
It is their... 4th Album
My rating (Out of 10 stars): 9.5
Compared to other Alternative-rock CDs, I'd give this one: 5/5 stars!
Explicit: Mildly Explicit
Am I happy this is part of my Collection?: Yes! (I'm never getting rid of it!)
Value (does the music out-weigh the cost?): 8.75/10

My ranking:
1) 'Gonzo'--For a couple weeks, I loved blasting this song in the car. It is AWESOME with so much passion! (10/10 stars!)
2) 'Bleed into your Mind'--like #1 but with really cute little electronic beats.
3) 'Heartbeat Slowing Down'
4) 'Out the Door'
5) 'Someday's Gone'
6) 'I for you'
7) 'Walk Over me'--the let-down of the album starts here.
8) 'Kids in the Street'
9) 'Affection'
10) 'The Beekeeper's Daughter'
11) 'Fast and Slow'--most raunchy song lyrics here :( and its for a reason--the music sucks!

"Who happened to catch this album?!"

I LOVE MUSIC!

Chapter 5: 'Romance movies + music= Love!'

My friend and I were watching the recent indie film "Safety Not Guaranteed". It was impressive and the romance between the characters were oh-so-a-real!
There was a scene where the main character plays a song he wrote on his zither:

I even bought the full-legnth version of this song "Big Machine" on i-tunes! Highly recommended.

This brought me on thinking though. Many of my favorite emotional, beautiful heartfelt songs actually are featured in several of my fav movies! Here's my list:

1) "Big Machine" (Mark Duplass) for the movie "Safety Not Guaranteed":

2) "Us" (Regina Spektor) for "500 Days of Summer":

3) "Only Hope" (Mandy Moore) for "A Walk to Remember":

4) "Mollie Smiles" (Jesse Spencer) for "Uptown Girls":

5) "This Time" ( Jonathan Rhys Meyers) for "August Rush":

Any others you feel like I missed? Please leave a comment and feel free to share the link!

A Romantic at Heart,

Chapter 4: 'A Summer day, In the Middle of Winter!'

Today just kept reminding me of Summer! The breeze, air of clouds, and warmer temp. felt great! I am very fond of clouds and each kind has a different feeling to me. Today's clouds told me "we are happiest at sea with the wind where people can be relaxed and at a happy state of mind."

It did not stop there. Through out the day I saw things like "Roxy" clothing (the beach), lush green grass, and in the car, I heard the song "Ships in the Night"!!! <3

There was even 'summer' reading and I stopped to get a mocha frappe! Coincidentally, they are advertising their new Fillet Fish Bites (might have to try?)

......."What I'm Reading Is a Secret :)"

For a game night, I made a really awesome munch-dessert--Heath Bar Dip (with several things to dip in it :P) For the 'dippers' I used cookie crisp cereal, sliced strawberries & apples, mini chips a hoy cookies, circus animal cookies, and strawberry pocky sticks!

ALMOST DONE!!!

SO MUCH BETTER!! :)
Thank you DixieCaviar for this Heath Bar Dip recipe! :)

I cannot wait for game night tonight! I hope it'll be cards or something competitive!

"What Reminds ya all of Summer?!"

A Summer day in the middle of Winter,

CD REVIEW #2: "Kelly Clarkson: Stronger"

"Kelly Clarkson: Stronger (Deluxe Version)"

Number of 'F bombs': I believe none
It is her... 5th Album
My rating (Out of 10 stars): 3.75
Compared to other pop genre CDs, I'd give this one: 2.5/5 stars (Remember though she has talent!)
Explicit: No.
Am I happy this is part of my Collection?: no
Value (does the music out-weigh the cost?): 5/10

I don't listen to much of Kelly Clarkson, but I just wasn't impressed with this CD. I actually did NOT like the song "Mr. Know it All". There is little variety! I am a much bigger fan of her previous works, such as "Miss Independent" and the acoustic version of "Breakaway" (Beautiful!)

My Ranking:
1) 'Dark Side'--My fav one!!!! It was so good and I wish all the other songs were like this!
2) 'I Forgive You'
3) 'Honestly'
4)'Breaking Your Own Heart'
5) 'The Sun Will Rise'
6) 'Let me Down'
7) 'Einstein'
8) 'Standing in Front of You'
9) 'Don't you Wanna Stay'--Things really started to go downhill from here.
10) 'Don't be a Girl'
11) 'The War is Over'
12) 'You Love Me'
13) 'Alone'
14) 'Hello'
15) 'You Can't Win'
16) 'Mr. Know it All'
17) 'Stronger'

"What did you think about this album?"

I LOVE MUSIC!

Chapter 3: 'Vermont......Curry?!'

Ringo is a character from the anime "Penguin Drum" I happened to be watching today. She's in love with her professor and wants to confess to him. How? By making him curry! She goes on and on about how the 20th of every month is curry day & that curry is best when eaten with people you love. It's her own tradition since she was little. Anyway, the episode was cute.

Then my thoughts headed toward the remnants of my pantry.
"I still have some Vermont Curry Roux!"
(And some vegetables, and milk...and a chicken breast, perfect!)

These days I do not like to cook. I usually believe that food always tastes better at places other than my own home. (My cooking sucks!) BUT tonight was an exception!

You can find several sites that will give you instructions on how to make curry, but as for me I did not have any tonight. So I had to wing it! In my cooking pot, I put butter, curry roux, milk, sliced zucchini, sliced carrot, sliced onion, cubed & peeled potatoes, a few drops of honey, and a few chunks of chicken breast.

People always question "It's strange that Japanese people love curry in the first place, but why do they also have a curry that's named after a State?!"
Answer: Vermont region is known for their apples. There are hints of apple and honey in the roux. Don't question its power!

I'm beginning to learn as a cook that cooking is not just an Art and Science, but is HEART!
When you 'get a feel' for what you are doing, have an intention, and are excited to eat, you get something awesome in return!

And here's mine:

And I'm going for seconds!!!!!!

Curry Connoisseur!

CD review #1: "All Time Low: Nothing Personal"

"ALL TIME LOW: NOTHING PERSONAL"

Number of 'F bombs': 1
It is their... 2nd Album
My rating (Out of 10 stars): 6
Compared to other Alternative Rock Albums, I'd give this one: 3.8/5 stars
Explicit: No.
Am I happy this is part of my Collection?: yes.
Value (does the music out-weigh the cost?): 7.75/10

This is my fav album from ALT because of all the catchy lyrics. Especially in the 'A Party Song (the walk of Shame)', it was so sweet-sounding, it's like...Bubblegum! Seriously! As for 'Weightless', listen to it in your car, LOUD with high base! :)

My Ranking:
1) 'Weightless'--I actually just found myself singing along with this!
2) 'A party song (the walk of shame)'
3) 'Therapy'
4) 'Sick Little Games'
5) 'Keep the Change you Filthy Animal'
6) 'Damned if I do ya (damned if I don't)'
7) 'Break your Little Heart'
8) 'Lost in Stereo'--this is where everything started going downhill in the list
9) 'Too Much'
10) 'Hello Brooklyn'
11) 'Stella'
12) 'Walls'--my least fav track :(

Food Porn Post #1: Where it Starts

Thank you Meripihka for this image!

I HAD TO try Dunkin Donuts Dark Chocolate
Mocha! It was very good!
So DON'T get confused with FOOD PORN and pornography. Food porn is just a term for 'food styling'! This means that I get to break-out my camera and take pictures of food! How cool is that?! Some people debate whether it's strange or not.

Well to me that doesn't matter. Now that I'm starting my mini industry, I wanted to show you the fruits of my labor for this week :)

Simple AND adorable recipe?! 1 petite scoop of
ice cream + a split in half fortune cookie!
Doesn't it look like a cat?! :D
Kiwis are beautiful creatures of fruit! :')

This is my fav convenience store bento.
The best part? The rice balls!! Especially the furikake and plum leaf one :)

I LOVE FOOD,

Chapter 2: 'January 2013 Reads'

In my book bin the last month was "I don't Like you at all Big Brother!!; vol. 1", "Harry Potter: and the Chamber of Secrets", "Girl Friends: The Complete Collection 2", "Incantation", and "Sailor Moon; vol. 1".

I'll let you know now the ranking of my read reads :P

#5: "I Don't Like you at all Big Brother!!"
#4: "Incantation"
#3: "Sailor Moon, vol. 1"
#2: "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets"
FIRST PLACE: "Girl Friends: The Complete Collection 2"

That is All.

Manga Review #1: "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon" (2012)

I just started the series so.... here's what I think after my first volume. (I believe there are 12 total volume releases)

Cover is nice :)

Several websites give a blurb of  'Sailor Moon History'. I came to love anime & manga around 2006, so  of course the Sailor Moon manga, which was previously published by Tokyopop, was no longer out. That is why this is such a big deal! Over the years, even with Sailor Moon no longer on American TV and no DVDs or manga being released, there remained a huge Sailor Moon fan base.

Oh, and the author Naoko Takeuchi is a feminist in modern Japanese society!

On the left is the back cover :) Toward the Right is what to expect for the binding art.

Rated: T for Teen
Volume: 1
Publisher: Kodansha Comics

Plot Synthesis: "Usagi Tsukino is a normal girl until she meets up with Luna, a talking cat, who tells her that she is Sailor Moon. As Sailor Moon, Usagi must fight evils and enforce justice, in the name of the Moon and the mysterious Moon Princess. She meets other girls destined to be Sailor Senshi (Sailor Scouts), and together, they fight the forces of evil! (Amazon.com)".

I was very happy with the artwork! It has an older feel, but superior to all the others. Also, the translations experienced a huge makeover! (The first publishing printed the main character's name as 'Bunny'! It may be true that 'Usagi' means rabbit in Japanese...) Already in this volume, four Sailor Soldiers have appeared and Tuxedo Mask has a huge role! I love Sailor Moon's girly-feel and Luna, the cat. I can tell the story is going to go somewhere! I cannot wait to see volume 2!

*Spoiler: I was especially pleased with the volume 2 manga preview, because it was in Japanese! I can read a few chunks, so for language students, look forward to this!

Here's what you'll be seeing :) Luna looks more classy in the manga than in the anime!

"IN THE NAME OF THE MOON, I WILL PUNISH YOU!"

Take Care and read a manga! ;)

Chapter 1: 'Welcome to my Opinionated Mind!'

Hi everyone! My name is Temo and I just wanted to give you a little back story to my start of this blog.

I was eight years old. Back in the day when you could easily press a button to change a channel, I was channel surfing. My stop was at a funny little cartoon called "Teamo Surpremo". Ten minutes had passed and one (only one!) button was hit to turn the TV off. I marched to my father and said
"Dad! This is the stupidest cartoon known to man!"
"What do you mean. What was it called?"
"Teamo Surpremo."
"Teeaamo!" my dad sung in a (manly?) voice.
"I'm going to start calling you Temo!"

And he spells without the 'a'.

And what did I learn from this? Over 10 years later, and this nickname is still mine.
When blogs were invented, I grabbed my aunt and was eager to start one. And now I'm trying again :p

I am random, excited to try new things, creative, and Temo.

I am NOT an alien or a unicorn. Or a chupacabra. So don't get the wrong idea. I am a woman with a blog. That is all. Thank you for reading my tid-bit of the intro for my blog!

------Temo

P.S. Above is what my eight year old self witnessed that changed her world AND Temo LOVES readers. Especially those that come back and have things to say. I love to argue! ;)
